So, you’re hoping to make sales on Facebook, but you’re getting next to no engagement on your posts? Well, obviously, that needs to change in order to start getting some traction in your business.

So today, I’m gonna lay out my nine simple tips to hack your Facebook engagement for more sales.

Now, I’ve got some great posts coming out all the time to help you learn how to leverage the internet to get your message out, to generate leads, and make sales, so make sure to subscribe to my Insider Newsletter so you can continue getting my posts and being the first to learn about special offers and promotions.

In order to increase your engagement on Facebook, you have to start by understanding the factors that are coming into play.

The number one factor, is that Facebook wants to protect their turf. They want people to enjoy their experience and to stay on Facebook longer. That means they are only gonna show your posts to people if they think they are likely to enjoy them.

That means that getting engagement is kinda cyclical. The more your audience engages, the more Facebook will show them your posts, increasing what’s called your reach or the number of people that Facebook actually shows your post to, which should then lead to more engagement, and so on and so on.

So learning how to increase that engagement will massively help your business.

With that in mind…..

Boost Facebook Engagement Tip #9:
Hack the algorithm with inspirational, educational, and entertaining posts

You don’t want to constantly pitch your audience with your posts. Creating posts that educate, inspire, and entertain your audience not only builds good will and trust with your audience, but it also encourages them to engage with your posts without any pressure to buy, so they are much more likely to do so.

And when they engage with this great, value-based content, this tells Facebook that those people actually want to see your posts, and in effect, Facebook will then show them more of your posts in the future, including your promotional posts.

Boost Facebook engagement Tip #8:
Do not include links in your posts

This isn’t a super hard and fast rule, you can break it on occasion, but understand that Facebook wants to keep their users on Facebook, so they are less likely to show people your posts if you include a link that would send them off of Facebook. Links will hurt your post in their algorithm and it will reach fewer people.

If you do want to send people off to a specific website, simply have them comment for the link and then send it to them privately through messenger, either manually or you can even automate it by using a messenger bot.

Not only does this maximize your reach, but it also increases your engagement, which then in turn, makes Facebook show your post to more people, win-win.

Boost Facebook Engagement Tip #7:
Make sure to use photos and videos whenever possible

Simply adding a photo to a post can boost your reach and more people will engage.

Facebook tends to favor videos, especially live videos in their algorithm, so make sure you use them. And, when you do a Facebook live, you can get lots of engagement from those who are actually watching the video live with you because you’re interacting with them and telling them to engage with you.

And so that’s, again, getting you more engagement, gonna boost the algorithm, and so on and so forth. So, it’s another plus.

Boost Facebook Engagement Tip #6:
Don’t compete with your own posts

If you post too much, you’re gonna actually knock your previous posts out of people’s News Feeds.

So…. let them simmer a bit. So they have some time for people to see them and respond.

On your business page, you really only need to post two to three times per week, and that’s totally fine. If you’re using your personal page, once, tops, twice a day is the most you want to post.

But the more you want people to see a specific post and engage with it, the longer you will want to wait and let it circulate and kinda simmer before you create new post.

Boost Facebook Engagement Tip #5:
Use Closed Captioning (CC) on Your Videos

Did you know that 85% of Facebook users are on the platform without sound?

Seriously!

Personally, I’m totally guilty of this. I do it all the time. And, with that in mind, you should definitely add captions to your videos.

So, if you are going to take the time to create video content, you should make sure people can actually get value from it. And, while, yes, you can write all of these out yourself, it’s a total pain in the butt and a waste of your time as an entrepreneur, so the service that I use and recommend is called Rev.com. They’re super fast, they’re accurate, and it’s only $1.25 per minute of video that you send them (as of the creation of this post).

So, pretty inexpensive and totally worth it.

Boost Facebook Engagement Tip #4:
Tell them to engage

Ask questions in your posts and have them comment with their answers.

And, whenever you’re actually doing a promotional post, tell them what to do for the next step.

This is called a CTA or a call to action. Tell them to like the post and comment “yes” below for more information, or tell them to like the post and click the link that you will leave in the comments to learn more, or whatever you want them to do to move them through your sales process.

But when you actually tell people to like or comment, you’ll be surprised at how many people will actually do what you tell them to do.

Boost Facebook Engagement Tip #3:
Reply to ALL of your comments that you receive on your posts

Now, you can also boost your reach even a little bit more if you don’t just hit the little reply button that replies specifically to that person, but instead, just do an additional comment on the post and tag the person you are talking to.

This is a super simple step and really doesn’t take much more time at all. But is seen by Facebook as more engagement on that post.

Boost Facebook Engagement Tip #2:
When people comment on your posts, reply with questions to engage with your audience

This encourages a dialogue. Instead of just saying thanks for the comment or “thanks” in a reply back to them, ask a question and start or open that dialogue.

The more comments and the more interaction you have on that post, the bigger your reach will be.

Alright, before I go into the last and most important tip, I wanna tell you really quick to make sure that you subscribe to my Insider Newsletter, so that you can have access to my additional posts on Facebook engagement as they released.

Now finally and most importantly…..

Boost Facebook Engagement Tip #1:
Create curiosity with your posts

Now, Facebook is different than, say, YouTube, or Google.

People use Google and YouTube when they’re already curious. Google and YouTube are search engines. People get curious about something and then they go search for more information about it on Google and YouTube.

But, Facebook doesn’t work that way so you need to use Facebook to generate curiosity about your offer in order to get people interested in learning more and then you can guide them to the next step to satisfy that curiosity. So, how do you do this?

Well, first of all , don’t spill the beans all at once about what it is you’re offering or what the details are.

Instead, tell people about the benefits of your offer, your product, service, or business. And, how it addresses their “pain points”, whatever those may be.

For example, “hey, look at Greg over here. Can you imagine that just three months ago, he was 45 pounds heavier? The awesome thing is that he simply added something to his daily routine, just took 2 minutes a day, and he didn’t change his diet. If you want to know exactly what Greg did to melt the pounds off, give him a like and comment “yes” below.”

See how that works? I talked about the benefit, the benefit of losing 45 pounds in three months, and then tell people what to do to learn more. Which, at the same time, also addresses their pain point of not being able to lose weight.

I don’t say what it is, I talk about what it does. I create curiosity and then I tell them to engage with the post in order to satisfy that curiosity. Pretty cool, huh?

Alright, now, using these top nine tips to boost Facebook engagement, you will greatly increase your organic reach engagement, and your bottom line with sales.
